From 57386c9baee78e50eb0c4a901ca9e1c147dc9777 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Eelco Dolstra Date: Mon, 10 Feb 2014 16:35:59 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Binary tarball: Automatically create /nix The tarball can now be unpacked anywhere. The installation script uses "sudo" to create /nix if it doesn't exist. It also fetches the nixpkgs-unstable channel. --- doc/manual/installation.xml | 29 ++++---- release.nix | 14 ++-- scripts/install-nix-from-closure.sh | 111 +++++++++++++++++++++++----- 3 files changed, 117 insertions(+), 37 deletions(-) diff --git a/doc/manual/installation.xml b/doc/manual/installation.xml index a136d3b11..4c433a6bf 100644 --- a/doc/manual/installation.xml +++ b/doc/manual/installation.xml @@ -69,27 +69,26 @@ $ dpkg -i nix_1.0-1_amd64.deb For other platforms, including Mac OS X (Darwin), FreeBSD and other Linux distributions, you can download a binary tarball.
