For example, github:edolstra/dwarffs is more-or-less equivalent to https://github.com/edolstra/dwarffs.git. It's a much faster way to get GitHub repositories: it fetches tarballs rather than entire Git repositories. Nix, the purely functional package manager
Nix is a new take on package management that is fairly unique. Because of its purity aspects, a lot of issues found in traditional package managers don't appear with Nix.
