The Lix daemon should really generate more logs in general, especially when set to debug mode. Currently it seems that all logs wind up on the client rather than in the system logs, which is quite a problem indeed if one wants to know if the Lix daemon is actually working.

For starters, it should print its version on startup into the system logs, as well as the socket it is listening on.
