I got this error while using a 5G wifi network dongle. Once I switched to using my phone as a hotspot, lix-installer was able to download and proceed.

Bad network connection. Maybe the installer should implement a better retry policy, but it's not substantially a lix installer bug and a browser would likely do the same for a download.
