Impact: macOS binaries of Lix are currently not deterministic. It would be nice to have them be 100% bit-reproducible for security, regression-testing build systems, etc, and this would help.

IIRC there are other things we found in that adventure and maybe some notes, but I can't find them right now. Ask @irenes for more details, I think they might remember.
